CERTIFIED CRANE OPERATOR TRAINING
Applications for the N CCO study classes and Testing are available at all three Union Halls or they can be downloaded at the The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (NCCCO) web site. If you go to their web site, go to the bottom of their page to handbooks and forms. Do not send your applicationto the NCCCO office: THE COMPLETED AND SIGNED APPLICATION, WITH THE PAYMENT (made payable to: International Assessment Institute) MUST BE SENT TO THE APPRENTICESHIP OFFICE. Classes will be held at the Local 9 Training Site. 41801 E. Quincy Ave., Bennett CO 80102.
A NEW PROGRAM FOR MEMBERS OF IUOE lOCAL 9:
The IUOE National Training Fund has developed a Journeyman upgrade class. This class is hosted at the IUOE Local 12 training facility in Las Vegas, Nevada. Participating locals can send up to 7 members per class. The class is two weeks long and can cover scraper, grader, crane, backhoe, trackhoe, directional drill, dozer, GPS, or a requested piece of equipment for specialty training (if available). Members can get additional information and an application from the Apprenticeship. Please submit an application if you are interested in taking this training.
Due to the location of the training site, weather may interfere with the safety of travel to the site, and/or the operation of equipment. If there is a question that weather conditions may effect your training . Please call the site the day before by 3:00pm to verify that it will be open and training will take place as scheduled. JOURNEYMEN AND APPRENTICE OPERATORS CAN CALL THE TRAINING SITE TO RESERVE A PIECE OF EQUIPMENT FOR TESTING, PRACTICE OR FOR TRAINING, RESERVATIONS DEPEND UPON THE AVAILIBILITY OF AN INSTRUCTOR AND THE PARTICULAR PIECE OF EQUIPMENT.
When you are scheduled for a class and can not attend, it is important that you contact the Training Site and cancel before 4:00pm on the day before the class. If you fail to do so, 4 hours will be docked form your training!
OSHA has changed their policy on the 10-hour OSHA certification. Classes are now limited to 7 1/2 hours of training per day. The class will now be taught on 2 separate days.
To take an 8-hour MSHA class, you will need to bring proof of 24 hour New Miner training or an 8 hour refresher within the last 3 years. no exceptions!
