CLASS SCHEDULE & TRAINING NOTICES

The International Pipeline Schedule and application are NOT YET available for the 2008-2009 classes. You can go to the International's web site to view and print out the application and schedule or contact Local9's apprenticeship office for them at 303-623-8334. The International's web address is www.iuoe.org. If you want to apply for a class, send your application to the apprenticeship office in Denver. IF YOU MAIL YOUR APPLICATION DIRECTLY TO THE INTERNATIONAL IT WILL BE REJECTED UNLESS THE BUSINESS MANAGER HAS SIGNED IT.

Everyone working at the Pueblo Army Depot and the Power Plant must have a 10 hour OSHA Card. OSHA requires all forklift operators to have training and this training must be documented. It does not matter if someone has run forklifts for 30 years they must have documented training to be hired.

HEALTH & SAFETY TRAINING

Confined-Space Training (CFR 1910.146) (CFR 1926.21(b)(6)) (OSHA)

Includes confined space recognition, potential hazards and record-keeping requirements

Construction Outreach Training (CFR 1926) (OSHA) (30 hours)

Includes training in safety areas such as electrical hazards, fall protection, crane safety, excavation safety, welding, use of personal protective equipment and hazard communication requirements.

Excavation Standard Training (CFR 1926 Subpart P) (OSHA)

Includes soil classification, use of sloping, shoring, trench boxes, and safety requirements for trenches and excavations, required for "competent person".

First Aid and CPR Training (DOT) (MSHA) (OSHA)

First Aid and CPR Training which includes Bloodborne Pathogen Training

Hazard Communication Training (CFR 1910.1200) (CFR 1926.59) (OSHA)

Employee "Right to Know" training. Includes MSDS and safety training.

Hazard Waste Operations and Emergency Response Training (HAZWOPER) (CFR 1910.120) (CFR 1926.65) (OSHA)

Initial Training (40 hours):

Refresher Training (8 hours):

Required annually. Updates HazMat training.

Third-party testing for Class A.
