Winter 2023- 2024 CJAT CLASS SCHEDULE



MSHAW Class at the Pueblo Hall: includes a tour of the mine.  April 11th-13th 7am-3:30 pm.    Click HERE to register


Forklift Operator Re-certification Class: April 6, 2024.  This class is for members who only need to re-certify for their forklift certification. Click HERE to register

Forklift Operator Certification Course: April 20, 2024.-This course will prepare the members for taking the Forklift Operator written examination with an opportunity to take the Forklift Operator Assessment. This is a two-day class. Click HERE to register. 

OSHA Excavation course: July 13, 2024: Click HERE to register.

GPS Course:July 20, 2024: This course will train the student in current GPS technology. Click HERE to register.

GPS/ Tools and Instruments Class: August 10, 2024. This introduction course includes; rotary laser, grade rods, and tape measures. Click HERE to register. 

Grades and Stakes Class: TBD: Grade checking class. 

Machine Controls Class: 

HDD, Directional Drill Class: Learn the basics of running a Directional Drill machine. TBD



NCCCO Winter Classes: Call our Crane Instructor Shannon Ridgway at (303) 644-3909 EXT 4 for questions.

 Members will be assigned a study manual and a student workbook at the beginning of the first class and will be expected to have that study manual and workbook with them for every class. The study manual is property of the Colorado Journeyman and Apprentice Training Site; Failure to return the study manual in good condition prior to test day will result in the member forfeiting their opportunity to take the written test and all fees associated with it. These courses are progressive, and participation is expected. The National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators (CCO) has moved to a digital platform for all written examinations. All candidates must create an account with CCO and register for the exams using the online dashboard.

*Due to recent policy and changes by the National Commission for the Certification of Crane Operators NCCCO; Colorado Journeyman & Apprentice Training Program, CJAT will continue to offer Certification opportunities as follows:

Written Exams

  May be taken as a single candidate, Tuesday – Friday 8am – 2pm.  Appointments are required.

  Small group testing opportunities are available as needed. Appointments are required.

Practical Exams

 May be taken Tuesday – Saturday 8am – 2pm. Appointments are required.

 OSHA & AMSE Study Class: August 3, 2024– 8 Hours. This course will assist the members with interpreting the current laws stipulated by OSHA specifically pertaining to cranes used in construction. Topics include electrical safety, wire rope, rigging, crane signals, inspections and hoisting personnel. Participants will learn how ASME applies to cranes used in construction. Subjects covered will include crane types, nomenclature and components, & crane set up with an emphasis on powerline safety, suspended personal platforms, and crane inspections.  NCCCO Recertification Class: TBA.  For Experienced Crane Operators who need to re-certify for their NCCCO Certification. 


 Interpretation of Crane Rating Manuals: TBD – 8 Hours. This course was created for experienced and aspiring crane operators. Topics that will be covered include working with percentages, fractions, decimals, conversions, and estimating weights using standardized formulas. We will cover note interpretation along with understanding and the utilization of load charts and range diagrams. We will utilize charts from various manufacturers and different crane types in this class. 

CCCO review and Load charts class: August 17, 2024- This class will go over load charts as well as offer a review for the NCCCO Test. Click HERE to register.

CPR/ FIRST AID - June 8. 2024. This class is highly recommended for ALL apprentices to take. Click HERE to register.
