There are two options for individuals pursuing membership with IUOE Local 9. For individuals with THREE (3) years of verifiable experience in the trade, we offer a PERMIT that grants eligibility to be dispatched to a job request submitted by one of our eighty plus signatory contractors. After completion of the NINETY (84) day probationary period, PERMIT holders may then be initiated as a MEMBER of Local 9. 

For individuals without THREE (3) years of verifiable experience, we encourage submitting an application to the Colorado Journeyman and Apprentice Training (CJAT) program. This is a THREE (3) year/ SIX (6) step Department of Labor certified, independently operated program where apprentices learn various skills of the trade while earning a full-time paycheck. This Earn-As-You-Learn program still gives apprentices the benefits provided to all Local 9 members, while earning a percentage of Journey scale. Click the links below to apply.
